Coronavirus: Hinshaw believes current measures not sufficient to bring Alberta numbers down | FULL

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw mentioned during her update on COVID-19 that she was “more concerned than ever before” about the spread of coronavirus in province. This comes as the province identified 1,828 new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Monday, and 15 additional deaths.

During the Q & A portion of her availability, Hinshaw was questioned on whether or not she believed the current restrictions were enough to flatten the curve, to which she responded “the current measures that we have in place are not likely sufficient to bring down our numbers.”

It was also revealed that Alberta will receive early shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the province is in discussions with the Federal government about the shipment.

Hinshaw also announced that the province is piloting point-of-care rapid testing at certain COVID-19 assessment centres in the province.
