Alberta identified 1,566 new cases of COVID-19, and recorded 13 additional deaths on Thursday.

Alberta's chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw began her daily COVID-19 update on Thursday by addressing reports of stigmatisation of ethnic or certain community groups and health-care workers.

Hinshaw also asked Albertans to share they way they are positively and safely celebrating the holidays by sharing their stories to social media with the hashtag #albertacares.
