Alberta continues to see COVID-19 cases decline on a daily basis in the province, according to deputy chief medical officer Dr. André Corriveau.

Corriveau announced Tuesday that Alberta Health had identified 127 new cases over the previous 24-hours.

The active COVID-19 case count in Alberta currently sits at 2,804, which according to Dr. Corriveau is the "lowest it's been since Oct. 15 of last year".

The province identified 85 additional variants of concern.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 in Alberta continue to decline as well, with 271 patients in hospital, with 68 in intensive care.

Alberta recorded four additional deaths from COVID-19.

Dr. Corriveau also stated that the province is feeling more comfortable with the stability and increase of COVID-19 vaccine supply and are hopeful to expand access to second doses as quickly as possible.
