Following a declaration from the Ontario Hospital Association that the province is in a third wave OF covid-19, the chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams agreed Ontario could be “going into” a third wave of the virus. However, he said what that wave looks like is still to be determined.

Williams made the comments during a media availability alongside associate chief medical officer of health Dr. Barbara Yaffe on Monday.

The province’s top doctor also spoke about Ontario’s recently launched COVID-19 vaccine portal. He said the portal had already seen 30,000 new bookings by mid-Monday and said while there had been a few “glitches” the system was working.

On Monday, Ontario reported 1,268 new coronavirus cases, bringing the provincial total to 319,374.
