Alberta Premier Jason Kenney announced Tuesday that 16,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in the province.
Kenney said the vaccines will be “quickly deployed” to high-risk residents in long-term care homes and designated supportive living facilities.
There were 872 new cases identified in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday’s announcement and more than 11,000 tests were done.
Twenty-six additional deaths were reported to Alberta Health on Tuesday.
