The second shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech’s coronavirus vaccine has arrived in Alberta.

Premier Jason Kenney made the announcement Tuesday afternoon that 25,350 additional doses of the vaccine have arrived in the province.

Of those, Edmonton and Calgary will receive 6,825 doses each, 1,950 will go to Red Deer and the remaining 9,750 will go to 10 rural centres across the province.

As of Dec. 21, 3,074 doses of the vaccine have been administered in Alberta with no reported adverse events following immunization.

Kenney also announced that the province was making a onetime exemption for single Albertans to attend one holiday gathering.

Alberta health minister Tyler Shandro also announced that massage therapy would be allowed as long as patients have a prescription and practitioners follow safety guidelines. Shandro also announced private counselling services would be allowed.
