Coronavirus: Alberta records 669 new cases, 21 deaths associated to COVID-19 | FULL

Alberta chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided an update on the COVID-19 situation in the province on Wednesday.

Hinshaw announced the province identified 669 new cases of COVID-19 from around 14,900 tests. That brings the positivity rate in the province to 4.5 per cent.

The province also recorded 21 deaths related to COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

Hinshaw started her update on Wednesday reiterating the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines and the province’s monitoring system. Of the 95,243 doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines administered, the province has recorded 18 adverse events. HInshaw stated six were due to allergies, while the others were symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea.
