Ontario Premier Doug Ford was in Brampton, Ont. on Wednesday to announce an additional $505 million in funding to transit across municipalities in the province. The funding comes on top of $2 billion provided by the government to transit agencies over the past two years.

Ford commented on Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie's criticism of the new housing law and other municipal leaders who’ve voiced opposition to the legislation, telling them to “get on board” and “stop whining.”

Crombie and other mayors across the province have said that Ontario’s new law eliminates and freezes some developer fees, which will force municipalities to raise property taxes in order to pay for infrastructure that supports new housing.

Ford said that there are a few mayors who “don’t want to play in the sandbox,” including Crombie. He also added that he doesn’t know what her "problem" is.
