Ontario Premier Doug Ford says he will repeal the legislation banning more than 55,000 education workers from striking, leading to the Canadian Union of Public Employees ending its walkout.
School boards across Ontario were forced to close their schools after CUPE walked off the job on Nov. 3.
While students will be back in the classroom after the brief strike, it does not rule out the possibility of teachers walking out again in the short-term future.
Colin D'Mello reports on the possible reason Ford backed down, and where this leaves contract negotiations.
