Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Friday said he listens to advice from chief medical officer of health, Dr. David Williams, when it comes to guidance during the coronavirus pandemic, and said if he gets the green light from Williams that a lockdown is necessary, he would lockdown "quicker than you can blink your eyes."
Ford made the comments during an update on COVID-19 in which he announced they were changing the thresholds for their colour-coded alert system after projections released on Thursday showed if urgent action isn't made, Ontario could see up to 6,500 new cases a day by December.
On Friday, the province reported 1,396 new cases with 19 new deaths.
