Speaking in Bath, Ont., on Monday, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that his government will provide $425 million to bolster the province's electric vehicle industry, alongside contributions by the company Unicore.
"These investments will strengthen our homegrown electric vehicle supply chain and will help ensure that the cars of the future are made in Ontario by Ontario workers from start to finish," Ford said.
Canada's Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry François-Philippe Champagne spoke alongside Ford about electric vehicle manufacturing on a federal level, adding the country makes about 800,000 electric vehicles annually.
