Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino testified before the standing committee on procedure and house affairs (PROC) meeting on Thursday regarding foreign interference.

Mendicino addressed China's intimidation campaign targeting Canadian MPs and foreign-operating police stations across Canada — which RCMP Commissioner Michael Duheme told the committee on Tuesday were 'shut down,' but that investigations were ongoing.

During his testimony, however, Mendicino was asked to “do the honourable thing” and resign “right here, right now” by fellow MP Blaire Calkin.

Calkin’s request came in response to Mendicino’s alleged lack of awareness surrounding threats of fellow MP Michael Chong and his family, as well as the transfer of serial rapist of killer Paul Bernardo to a medium-security prison.
