British Prime Minister Boris Johnson told MPs at a meeting of the House of Commons Liaison Committee on Wednesday that "I will not step down," when questioned about his future as more members of his own party and cabinet continued to resign, some doing so even as Johnson answered questions on political integrity, Ukraine and the cost of living in the country.

Johnson is in the fight for his political life as, despite successfully beating a confidence vote last month, now that more scandals have surfaced. Recently, Johnson was forced to apologize for appointing a lawmaker to a role involved in offering pastoral care to his party, even after the prime minister had been briefed that the politician had been the subject of complaints about sexual misconduct.

It was also reported on Wednesday that a number of cabinet ministers, including the Conservatives' chief whip, planned to meet with him that evening and urge him to resign personally.
