Majority of Canadians opposed to having an election during pandemic: Poll

Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau was repeatedly attacked by his opponents on the decision to call an election during the French-language debate on Thursday.

An Ipsos poll exclusively done for Global News showed that nearly 70 per cent of Canadians disapprove of having a federal election during the pandemic.

Trudeau has also been the target of protests during his campaign stops since the campaign kicked off, but polls show Canadians are divided on whether those protests pose a threat to democracy, or should be seen as part of one. Miranda Anthistle reports.
