Alberta Health Minister Jason Copping says although it’s too early to tell, signs are hopeful that COVID-19 spread is starting to trend downward.

Copping said wastewater data remain high at many sites, some areas are starting to see a decline or plateau.

Hospital admissions are up slightly, but are still in line with pre-COVID years, according to Copping.

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw announced the province saw an average of nine deaths per day related to covid-19 between April 19th and April 25th.

Hinshaw said the deaths were between the ages of 32 and 103.
