Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau continued his campaign in Atlantic Canada on Monday, focusing on health-care and making a promise to hire more doctors and nurses and to lower wait times. But it's a similar promise that was seen in the 2019 campaign that every Canadian would have a family doctor — a promise that has yet to come to fruition.

At issue is the federal government doesn't hire doctors, that's up to the provinces whose leaders have been calling for more funding. As Mercedes Stephenson reports, the pandemic has made health-care a campaign issue and voters are looking at the parties are offering.

The Liberals are also facing heat from the Conservatives after a campaign video the party released on Twitter, that appeared to show Erin O'Toole expressing support for a private "for profit" health-care system, was flagged as "manipulated media." The Conservative leader slammed the video as inaccurate, saying Trudeau and the Liberals were bringing in "American-style media manipulation."

Trudeau's defence was to point people to the unedited version which was also posted. Mike Le Couteur takes a look at the video and the fallout that is following it.
