Canada election: Liberals, Conservatives in dead heat as campaign enters final days, poll finds

An Ipsos poll released on Wednesday has found the Liberals and Conservatives in a dead heat, each with 32 per cent support, as the federal election campaign enters its final days before the election on Sept. 20.

While the Liberals and Conservatives are tied, the poll finds Conservative support is down three points from last week. The NDP has 21 per cent of the vote and the Green Party is at four per cent, an increase of two points, according to the poll.

“I think what’s happened is that over the space of the last week, the Liberals have really turned on the fire on their campaign, says Ipsos Public Affairs CEO Darrell Bricker.

“We’ve seen the prime minister get out there and be really aggressive about what he sees the country will lose as a result of electing a party other than the Liberal party to govern the country.”

There continue to be several close races in the more vote-rich provinces.
