New polling done exclusively for Global News by Ipsos shows even as major parties are set to begin their second week of campaigning, the incumbent Liberals may have already "stumbled out of the starting block" despite entering the election campaign ahead of the other parties.

Signs are now pointing to a "volatile" election day that could easily be swayed one way or the other despite a lead of at least five points by the Liberals over the Conservatives - a lead they've held since the spring.

The poll found at least three in 10 Canadians said they don't know who's going to win the election and only 45 per cent said they were certain of their vote choice. That unpredictability relates to uncertainty over where things stand heading into the future and frustration over being in an election during a pandemic.
