Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre on Monday called on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to allow his brother, Alexandre Trudeau, to testify before a parliamentary committee over a donation the Trudeau Foundation received in 2016 linked to China.

In response, Government House Leader Mark Holland criticized Poilievre saying the prime minister has not been involved in the foundation for about a decade.

Pressed on when Trudeau became aware of the China-linked donation, Holland reiterated that Trudeau had not had any involvement and went on to say that MP Michael Barrett, who posed the second round of questions, was asserting that "this government would welcome the interference of a foreign country. That is absolutely absurd."
