After a slew of allegations of inappropriate behaviour toward his staffers went public last week, Liberal candidate Raj Saini has announced he is ending his re-electon run. The now former candidate for the riding of Kitchener Centre continues to deny the allegations in an official statement released Saturday - but says "for everyone's health and safety, I have taken the painful decision to end my campaign for the 44th Parliament." As Mercedes Stephenson explains, Saini's exit from the campaign could be a key loss for the Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau's own re-election efforts.
Meanwhile, Conservative Leader Erin O'Toole is still being dogged by questions over gun control while campaigning in British Colubmia. O'Toole has vowed, if elected, not to repeal Canada's current assault rifle ban while speaking at a French leaders debate on Thursday - even though his own party's official platform is still claiming the opposite. As Mike Le Couteur explains, some believe O'Toole is trying to stay vague, to cater to gun lobbyists.
Also on campaign trail in Nova Scotia, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh made new health care promises, vowing to implement a national dental care plan for Canadian families who earn less than $90,000 a year if elected. Abigail Bimman reports on how Singh plans to pay for it, as the party picks up more support in the polls.
