Alberta’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw keeps urging Albertans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as the province continues to see the number of active cases drop.
Hinshaw announced on Tuesday that the province had reported 442 new cases of COVID-19 while also recording an additional 12 deaths. That brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to 3,063.
Hinshaw also said it was encouraging to see a significant increase in vaccinations since the province launched the restriction exemption program in mid-September, with more than 505,000 first doses administered.
