World leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, marked International Women’s Day on Monday.

Harris highlighted the importance of building “a world that works for women,” which she said includes ensuring women’s safety and access to quality health-care, and treating women with “dignity at work.”

Trudeau spoke about bringing women to “the decision-making table,” while Biden highlighted the need to make space for women in the military.

Activist Malala Yousafzai was among those to applaud women for the role they’ve played during the coronavirus pandemic, and encouraged everyone to thank the women in their lives.
