The Victoria Cross, Canada's top military citation, hasn't been awarded to any soldier since it was created in 1993.

A group of Afghanistan veterans are pushing for Pte. Jess Randall LaRochelle, to be the first recipient for his heroic service in Afghanistan. If successful, he would be the first Canadian soldier to be awarded the country's top military citation since the Second World War.

As Mike Drolet explains, LaRochelle’s health is deteriorating, making the group’s campaign all the more urgent.
