Several nurses from across Canada, including B.C., the Northwest Territories and Ontario have been sent to lend a hand in three hospitals in Toronto as intensive care units faced increased pressure with cases spiking in the province and the capital city being a hot spot.
Some of the nurses now helping out are speaking about their experiences, with one nurse who worked in ICUs for 21 years and on the frontlines during the SARS and H1N1 pandemics saying COVID-19 is unlike anything she's seen before.
Caryn Lieberman went to one of the ICUs where the nurses are working to find out what difference they're making.
