In the U.S., some hospitals are becoming overwhelmed amid the COVID-19 pandemic, with 21 states reporting record daily case numbers of the virus. It remains the most infected country in terms of both confirmed cases, at over 8.94 million, and deaths, around 228,000.

In hospitals near the U.S. border, Canadian health care workers are among those treating American COVID-19 patients. Jeff Semple reports from Michigan, where he spoke to some of the workers.
