As the deadly conflict in Ukraine rages on, the United Nations now says about 3.7 million people have now fled the country since Russia's invasion began a month ago, with many of them heading to neighbouring Poland.

Now, years after leaving the front lines, Canadian veterans Kynan Walper and Dave Lavery are tackling the horrors of war again, to help innocent Ukrainians escape war.

Jeff Semple looks at the harsh journey for families to get out of harm's way.
