Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau delivered a statement to Canada's House of Commons shortly regarding the situation in Gaza and Israel.

In a speech to Canada's Parliament, Trudeau spoke to both the horrors of the Hamas attack last week as well as the terrible civilian losses as a result of the IDF's actions since then, in preparation for a ground invasion.

Trudeau acknowledged that "many people" with ties to both sides of the conflict feel "afraid" by the "escalating tension" of the situation between Israel and the Gaza Strip, as well as elsewhere.

The eyes of the world are on Gaza ahead of a looming Israeli ground offensive, and mounting fears about the true scale of the humanitarian cost of an IDF ground offensive and the potential for horrifying collateral damage.

Five Canadians have been confirmed killed in the Hamas attack last week.
