Quebec Premier François Legault said on Thursday that the province-wide imposed curfew is working based on a decline of new COVID-19 cases over the past 10 days. He thanked Quebecers for abiding by the curfew and urged them to continue doing so but warned restrictions might be extended.

Legault said, “everything is on the table” when it comes to extending restrictions in place to curb the spread of COVID-19, especially in the hard-hit Montreal and Laval areas.

The premier once again urged the federal government to ban non-essential international flights amid fear of spread of new variants.

A total of 9,273 deaths due to COVID-19 and 248,860 cases have been reported in the province to date.
