Quebec Premier François Legault called on Quebecers Tuesday to remain vigilant and be “very careful” as the province hit 10,000 deaths due to COVID-19.

The premier expressed happiness over loosening some restrictions as schools returned to in-class learning as well as university campuses having reopened on Monday.

He applauded efforts taken by all Quebecers to bring cases down and said the result proves measures are working but asked people to continue to stay vigilant and stay at home as much as possible.

Quebec reported 826 new COVID-19 cases and 32 more deaths attributed to the virus, including five in the previous 24 hours.

The province has reached a total of 10,000 deaths due to COVID-19.
