Quebec's month-long curfew is now in effect, in an attempt to curb its surge in COVID-19 cases.

But the new rules were immediately met with protests, as well as concerns police are being too heavy-handed with restrictions.

Dozens of Quebec residents are facing fines for violating the province’s newly enacted curfew on Sunday as the COVID-19 infection rates the measure is meant to curb continued their sharp upward trajectory.
