Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek said on Monday that the broken water main is on track to be repaired by July 5.
She added that while water usage remained below the maximum threshold over the weekend, Gondek urged residents to use less water because it can be required to put out fires – such as the blaze extinguished over the weekend.
"We know that we can conserve water best when we understand that we're in this together," Gondek said.
Gondek additionally mentioned additional sites for non-portable river water, stressing this water isn't for consumption, but for watering gardens.
