Two million Americans in several western U.S. states are under red flag warnings that wildfires are raging out of control, with one in Oregon considered the season's first official "megafire.”

More than 60 per cent of the U.S. is suffering from extreme drought and scientists say human-produced climate change is creating more heat with less rain, the perfect combination to fuel fires.

As Jennifer Johnson explains, experts are warning what it could mean for the remaining fire season and it's worrying those on the front lines.
