At least eight people have died in wildfires in Turkey along its Mediterranean and Aegean coasts as high winds and 40C temperatures keep these blazes going.
In neighbouring Greece, firefighters are trying to control flames which have razed houses and put more than a dozen people in hospital.
Scientists say extreme temperatures, droughts and high wind speeds - all of which can be linked to climate change - are responsible for creating the conditions that southern Europe is currently experiencing.
