Thousands of people, many of them tourists, have been evacuated on Rhodes as wildfires continue to burn.

The Greek government says 19,000 people have been evacuated - 16,000 by land and 3,000 by sea - in what it describes as the "largest ever" wildfire evacuation in Greece's history.

Stranded tourists have been trying to figure out where to go. Amy Leyden, a British tourist, has recalled her experience of escaping the wildfires from her hotel to a temporary accommodation.
