Ahead of the Feb. 7 meeting with Canada's premiers, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was grilled about the country's health-care system during Monday's question period in the House of Commons.

Trudeau was asked if his government will ensure "every single dollar" that the federal government will give provinces will go toward public health care. This came after certain provincial leaders, like Ontario's and Alberta's, have vocalized support for private health-care options as systems struggle to keep up with demand.

Trudeau replied that his government will ensure it's standing up for the Canada Health Act to ensure all Canadians have access to "timely and necessary procedures."

All 13 Canadian premiers will be meeting with Trudeau on Tuesday to discuss funding for health care.
