Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended Canada’s defence spending levels as he wrapped up a three-day visit to Ukraine and Poland on Monday.

Trudeau said Canada is the seventh-largest contributor to the defence of all 31 NATO allies but acknowledged it has “more to do.”

He met on Monday with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who said it is essential that the Western world rise to meet the global threat posed by Russia.

Abigail Bimman reports on Trudeau’s trip and how Canada stacks up on military spending.
