Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a news conference on the final day of the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles on Friday, answering questions from reporters.

During the conference, he reminded delegates that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over and that small and developing nations still need support.

Throughout the day, Trudeau also met with U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as well as the leaders of Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. He also took part in one of the centrepiece events of the summit: presenting the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection.

On Thursday, Trudeau met for an hour with U.S. President Joe Biden, who agreed to a visit to Canada in the “coming months,” his first since becoming president in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
