Deborah Flint, president and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) provided an update on Friday on steps Pearson International airport is taking to reduce wait times and travel delays.

She said eGates have been implemented for customs, instead of machines at the customs hall, which is aimed to save time on arrival.

Travellers can now fill online declaration forms up to 72 hours before departure.

Live security wait times updates are now available for travellers on the airport’s website.

Flint said travellers will be able to virtually queue in a security line before showing up at the airport in the near future.

She added that airport retailers, restaurants and vendors are all hiring new workers to reduce wait times for services.
