Saskatchewan RCMP laid out a preliminary timeline on Thursday of the James Smith Cree Nation mass stabbings that occurred last September.

Among the details revealed so far were that Damien Sanderson, the brother of Myles – the man who committed the murders, was the first to die in the mass casualty events that occurred on James Smith Cree Nation and Weldon, Sask.

It has taken more than seven months for RCMP investigators to gather the evidence necessary to build the timeline of exactly what happened that day. Investigators completed 257 witness interviews in order to establish the timeline.

Global's Kabi Moulitharan breaks down what we know so far about what the RCMP have detailed.
