In Ontario, a COVID-19 outbreak in the Kashechewan First Nation is devastating the community of roughly 1,800 people.

Over 200 cases have been reported, with half of them impacting people under the age of 18.

Annual floods and a housing shortage have plagued the First Nation for years. Now, cramped living conditions are helping the virus spread across the remote region.

The federal government has sent a team of 15 Canadian Rangers to assess the situation and is ready to move more resources into the region.

Mike Le Couteur reports.
