More Greenbelt land could be removed for development, housing minister suggests

Ontario's new Housing Minister Paul Calandra says development will continue on 14 sites removed from the Greenbelt last year as he carries out a wider review of the protected lands while suggesting more properties could be opened to housing construction. 'It's a very, very sad day. The government is doubling down on its attack on the Greenbelt, and the attack on environmental protection in Ontario,' Tim Gray, the executive director of Environmental Defence said.
