Public sector medical workers across Myanmar began a civil disobedience protest against Monday's coup saying they would refuse to work under the new military government, threatening the country's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, prosecutors filed obscure criminal charges against state counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and her ally President Win Myint.
The president's accused of breaching coronavirus measures on the campaign trail last year; Aung San Suu Kyi's charges stem from the possession of walkie talkies.
