With Latin America again seeing a rise in COVID-19 cases, governments in the region are being criticised for the slow rollout of vaccination programmes.
In the meantime, front-line doctors and nurses are going out day after day to fight the pandemic.
Colombia has recently seen an increase in COVID-19 deaths, taking their total to more than 70,000.
There is a worse picture in Brazil, with more than 14 million infections and 386,000 deaths.
And with the vaccination programme being rolled out slower than most people would like, there is no end in sight, no respite for thousands of front-line medical workers.
