Shared Health CEO Lanette Siragusa said Friday, following a deadly crash that claimed the lives of 15 people, that the response from first responders and hospital staff was “tremendous.”

“Everyone’s working at the same time in harmony to make sure we have the capacity for the most acute patients,” she said.

The province’s health authority says six patients remain in critical condition a day after the crash between a semi truck and bus.

Police have said a group of mostly seniors from Dauphin, Man., and the surrounding area were heading to a casino when the crash happened on the Trans-Canada highway near the town of Carberry, Man.

Shared Health says the hospitalized range in age from early 60s to late 80s and are being treated for various injuries.
