Supt. Rob Lasson from the Manitoba RCMP major crimes unit, Premier Heather Stefanson and Lanette Siragusa, CEO of Shared Health, provided an update on Monday afternoon about the tragic bus crash on Thursday that killed 15 people.

Siragusa said that 10 patients remain in hospital, with five in critical condition and one patient upgraded from critical. The patients' ages ranges from their 60s to their 80s.

"[This is a] devastating tragedy that we have seldom seen before. My heart is broken for the families and loved ones affected," Stefanson said.

"Manitoba is a province where everyone knows everyone. These are our friends, these are our neighbours, these are our loved ones, these are members of our community," Stefanson added.

The RCMP has launched an investigation into what caused the crash.
