Orange County Sheriff's Department Undersheriff Jeff Hallock said Sunday that one person was killed and four are in critical condition after a shooting occurred at a church in Laguna Hills, Calif. A male suspect has been taken into custody.

Police say the suspect was detained at the scene and they have recovered a weapon that may have been involved in the shooting.

Police believe the suspect is not from the area and investigators are working to determine his city of residence and if he has any connection to the church or congregation.

It is not clear at this time what the motive was behind the attack.
