After days of intense negotiation, desperately-needed aid is finally entering Gaza including food, water, and coffins. But it’s not nearly enough according to aid groups with only 23 trucks making it through today. Before the conflict, several hundred trucks would arrive on a daily basis. The Israeli Defence Force is warning that it is intensifying its airstrikes on Gaza in what it calls before the next stage of the war. Crystal Goomansingh has the latest.

There are also worries about the hundreds of hostages taken by Hamas whose fates remain unknown. There was a glimmer of hope after the armed group released a mother and daughter, abducted during their initial attack but many other families are desperate to find out about their missing loved ones. Mike Drolet reports.

Amid growing fears the conflict between Israel and Hamas could expand across the region, global leaders sought to find a diplomatic solution today at the Cairo Peace Summit. Conspicuously absent – Israel and any senior U.S. officials – and as Reggie Cecchini explains, the U.S. is mired in its own political turmoil which could spell difficulties for President Joe Biden’s ability to help find a solution.
