Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke at Queen's Park on Friday on his government's ongoing Greenbelt controversy and doubled down on his demand for the Feds to come up with a national housing plan.
He delivered a strong message to developers and those with building permits to start construction without delays. "I'm sending a warning shot right now, if you're holding on to wind and your permits, you better start building," he said.
He added that the federal government allowing half a million immigrants will become "over 5 million" in the next ten years. "That's almost the size of two cities of Toronto being plopped down here."
Ford also emphasized that his priority was affordability and that the escalating prices of gas and groceries only serve to worsen the issue.
