There is new hope for parents with children between the ages of six months and five years.
Pfizer says three doses of its COVID-19 vaccine for these younger kids are safe and effective. In a statement, Pfizer says "our formulation for the youngest children, which we carefully selected to be one-tenth of the dose strength for adults, was well tolerated and produced a strong immune response."
Pfizer and its partner, BioNtech, plan to take their findings to U.S. regulators this week, claiming the new vaccine is 80 per cent effective.
Ross Lord explains how the data is inspiring new confidence.
