Canada’s already sluggish vaccine rollout is facing another hurdle. Pfizer-BioNTech is asking Health Canada to stretch the number of vaccine doses in each of its vaccine vials from five to six, claiming the change would help minimize vaccine wastage.

The move would allow Pfizer to send fewer vials to Canada while still meeting its contractual obligations to send 40 million doses to Canadians.
